Nonhlanhla is a CoFounder and Executive Director of the Lesbian & Gay Community & Health Centre, a project of the KZN Coalition for Gay & Lesbian Equality. Founded 9 August 2000, the Centre is a drop-in and service providing non-profit which runs an Outreach Mosaic Clinic, conducts diversity training, human rights education and advocacy.
Nonhlanhla has studied, volunteered and worked with a variety of organisation e.g. Legal Resources Centre, Provincial Parliamentary Programme, S.A. Youth Council (KZN), KZN Network on Violence Against Women, Children’s Right Centre, CGE, SAHRC, TAC, GAF and SWEAT – all which have equipped them to run the centre, to engage with, and provide guidance to and leadership among Civil Society, Public Service and Business Sectors.
For their Masters in Social Sciences (Anthropology) Nonhlanhla, researched Durban Women’s Perceptions of the Female Condom (fc1 vs fc2). Nonhlanhla is a member to various Women, Youth and Children organisations and continues to support/advise various grassroots movements.
Nonhlanhla is a process facilitator and human rights trainer specialising in Diversity, Sexual Offenses, Domestic Violence, and Human Trafficking; is Chair of SANAC CSF LGBTI Sector, and Co-Chairs to a variety of multi-stakeholder structures. Hate Crimes Task Team.
