Her Excellency Fatoumata Jallow Tambajang is the former Vice President of the Gambia. Madam Fatoumata Jallow Tambajang holds a BA French Language from the University of Nice, France. She is an award-winning influential Pan African leader and inspirational speaker with an overall 35 years of distinguished career in governance, politics, international development management, peace building, fundraising and empowerment of women and youth. She served in several executive positions in the Gambia government, UNDP and civil society organizations (CSOs) and represented these institutions in many international engagements.
Some of her recent accomplishments include championing and facilitating the empowerment of African women and youth in decision making and development, supporting the establishment of strong women and youth organizations, providing strategic leadership in African National Elections Observation, contributing to the implementation of the African Agenda 2063 in the areas of peace, security and empowerment of women and youth.
Her Excellency also served as the ECOWAS/ AU/ Commonwealth Secretariat Chief Peace Mediator that facilitated the adoption of the National Unity Agreement (NUA) by the SLPP government and African People’s Congress (APC) in October 2023.
She is currently working on the establishment of her dream peace foundation for Africa while also consulting in her areas of governance, peace, human security, development and empowerment of women and youth.
