Ah Maftuchan is an Indonesia citizen. He is a public policy expert, governance specialist, international development practitioner, writer and researcher. Provide advisory to the Indonesia government, foreign government, CSOs and private sector. Maftuchan committed to strengthening evidence-based policy and engagement with policy makers at national-global level. 

Ah Maftuchan is the executive director of the PRAKARSA, Jakarta-based CSOs think and do tank since 2015 until now. Maftuchan is co-founder and coordinator of the Responsibank Indonesia Coalition, a network of Indonesian CSOs in research and policy advocacy on sustainable finance. Maftuchan also coordinator of Tax Justice Forum of Indonesia, a network of CSOs in research and policy advocacy on taxation issues. 

Maftuchan is a member of the National Team of the Public Governance Committee for Indonesia’ Accession to OECD/Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development member country. Maftuchan is a member of the working group on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the Republic of Indonesia and works as advisor for the Indonesian Delegation for the United Nations High Level Political Forum (UN-HLPF) 2017 on SDGs. 

Maftuchan is members of the BRICS Civil Council, an official engagement group of the BRICS for CSOs since 2025. Maftuchan is member of the International Advisory Committee of Civil-20 (C20) of the G20 Brazil Presidency 2024, Troika of C20 of the G20 India Presidency 2023, Sherpa of C20 the G20 Indonesia Presidency 2022 and Steering Committee of C20 of the G20 Italy Presidency 2021. C20 is an official engagement group of the G20 (Group of Twenty). 

Maftuchan is steering committee of the Fair Finance Asia/FFA (2024-2026), an Asian network of CSOs in advocating and promoting sustainable finance especially on how the banks and financial institutions are more responsible on environment, social and governance (ESG) principles.  

Maftuchan also Co-coordinator of Tax and Fiscal Justice Asia/TAFJA (2019-2024), an Asian network of CSOs in campaigning for fiscal transparency and tax justice. Maftuchan is member of the Coordinating Committee of the Global Alliance for Tax Justice/GATJ (2019-2024), a global coalition in the tax justice movement work for a world where progressive and redistributive tax policies and generate the public funding needed to ensure essential services and human rights.
