Dr. Krishnashree Achuthan

As part of India’ s G20 presidency and under the C20 India chairmanship of Sri Mata Amritanandamayi Devi, Dr. Krishnashree Achuthan led the C20 working group on Technology, Security and Transparency (India C20 TST) that brought together voices from 122 countries and engaging with over 1000 civil society organizations (CSOs), thereby fostering a global dialogue on these critical topics. In addition to policy recommendations, an important outcome was the establishment of a coalition of Civil Society Organizations from across the world called GLIDES (Global Internet Governance, Digital Empowerment and Security Alliance) that enables 

inclusive, open, non-discriminatory and fair digital society through collective efforts. Today, GLIDES includes CSOs from 22 countries. Several other initiatives such as TACTICS ((Technology Advancement & Capacity Building Training Initiatives for CSOs) and SAFE & BRAVE ONLINE were also launched to benefit CSOs worldwide as part of India C20 TST activities. Dr. Krishnashree Achuthan is a distinguished academic and researcher at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham and CEO of Amrita Technology Business Incubator, renowned for her extensive contributions to the fields of technology, innovation, entrepreneurship and social reforms. With over 150 publications and 34 patents to her credit, Dr. Achuthan’s work is characterized by a unique blend of technical expertise along with an understanding of the societal implications of technology.

Her efforts have not only advanced academic knowledge but have also had a tangible impact on policy-making and the broader discourse on technology and social issues. She has served as one of the key coordinators for the National Mission on Internet and Communication Technologies (NMEICT) by Govt of India for over a decade. Having pioneered educational interventions such as the development of Virtual laboratories at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham in various STEM disciplines, the work has served several million youth from 95+ countries online in their educational endeavors. She has continued to develop innovational techno-solutions for various technology-challenged MSMEs and support entrepreneurs as part of the Amrita Technology business incubator.
